08/05/2007 - Akron, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Rory Sabbatini said earlier this year at the Wachovia Championship that he wanted Tiger Woods in the final round.
He got what he asked for then and Tiger gave him more of the same on Sunday at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Sunday on the South Course at Firestone Country Club, Woods showed Sabbatini and the field why he is the best player in golf.
Woods closed with a bogey-free, five-under 65 to roll to an eight-stroke win. He completed his second three-peat at this event at eight-under-par 272. He is the only player in this events' nine-year history to come from behind and win. Woods did that in 2001 and again Sunday.
Woods' record in World Golf Championship events continues to get even more impressive. He has now won 14 times in 25 World Golf Championship starts.
Sabbatini, the 54-hole leader, is actually the last player to own the 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour and go on to win the tournament. That happened at Colonial in late May.
The 31-year-old Sabbatini closed with a four-over 74 to end at even-par 280. He was joined in second place by Justin Rose, who posted a two-under 68 on Sunday.
Peter Lonard (68) and Chris DiMarco (70) shared fourth place at plus-one. Davis Love III and Tim Clark each shot 69 Sunday to finish alongside Andres Romero at two-over-par 282.
Woods birdied four of the first six holes to jump to seven-under. He cruised home from there with 11 pars and a birdie on the par-three 12th.
Sabbatini, meanwhile, birdied the first to keep his lead, but it was all down hill from there. His next birdie was on the 18th. Sabbatini bogeyed four and five to fall three behind. He later double-bogeyed the ninth, then bogeyed 10 to drop seven back.

MySportsbook.com Posts Heisman Trophy Odds
With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.
Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season. Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.
This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy. A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
Current betting odds Heisman trophy are:
